With data integrity and trust critical to all aspects of Data Storytelling, over the last few months we've doubled down on ways we can make this easier and more intuitive to monitor and proactively manage the data sources in your Nugit Team.
Today, we're delighted to share a few of the enhancements you'll find next time you login to your Nugit Storytelling Platform.
We recognise how critical it is to monitor the status of each data source to build trust in the stories you share. The Data Factory now provides a whole lot more information about each data source to Team Admins and Data Managers, enabling better data health checks, troubleshooting and diagnostics.
Together with the existing information about each data source previously supported - such as the source name, currency, platform type, timezone and status - users can now view new information about data backfilling and data availability.
New information includes:
You can customise your Data Factory view to display this additional information by clicking on the Gear icon in the right corner of the app.
We want to ensure that users are updated when there's a problem syncing data in your team. Issues with the data connected to Nugit can occur for several reasons, such as:
Nugit now notifies Admins and Data Managers by email when there are issues updating a data source in your team. Understand which data sources are affected, the type of issue and the date of the latest data update.
Data Alerts will be automatically delivered to Admins and Data Managers of your team when issues occur.
These timely alerts will allow you to better manage data accuracy and fix data issues proactively and ensure that stories are being shared with the correct information.
Data sources are set to update daily by default, however, there are times when you might not need this data refreshed so often. This may be because the third-party platforms have limits on the amount of data you can refresh, or simply because the source is no longer being used.
Admins and Data Managers can now Pause and Resume a data source directly from the Settings menu in the Data Factory.
Pausing gives you more control to conserve resources that can be prioritised for the active sources you need updating fast.
If the source becomes active again, simply hit Resume and Nugit will provide a full initialisation and update to the most recent data in a prioritised queue.
There are many reasons why you may not want to keep data stored in the Nugit Cloud, whether it be older campaigns, or from a customer data analysis project that’s already finished. Previously, you had to get in touch with the Nugit Customer Success team to purge these data sources.
With the Delete Feature, Admins and Data Managers can now Delete a data source directly from the Settings menu in the Data Factory.
This means you can now manage exactly what is stored in Nugit, keeping your Data Factory clean, compliant and up-to-date.
